The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died Aug. 28 in Babur, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device. Killed were:
Sgt. Patrick K. Durham, 24, of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Spc. Andrew J. Castro, 20, of Westlake Village, Calif.
Durham was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. Castro was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
