LINK TRAINER MECHANIC (593)

Inspects, cleans, lubricates, and makes minor adjustments to link trainer equipment.

Inspects trainer and accessory equipment, including control desk, electric motors, and bellows. Operates controls of trainer, tests its communication equipment, and examines condition of electrical wiring. Analyzes malfunctions. Makes such repairs as tightening loose or broken electrical connections, mending leaks in bellows, lubricating electric motors, and replacing defective unit assemblies. Assists instructors in training of flying personnel with the link trainer.

Tools used include screw drivers, wrenches, pliers, and other small hand tools.

Completion of link trainer maintenance course at an Army school or equivalent military experience required.
