Welds aircraft assemblies and parts, using gas and electric welding equipment, in connection with repair of aircraft structures.
Repairs aircraft parts and structures such as braces, exhaust stacks, and tubing by welding. Fabricates parts and structures required in maintenance of aircraft. Works within close tolerances of temperatures applied to the metal and to fitting of
parts and structures.
Sets up and operates welding apparatus and uses such machinery and tools as drill presses, pedestal grinders, power hack saws, hand tools, dies, and taps. Heat treats all aircraft metals to obtain desired hardness and temper characteristics. Prepares and uses working drawing and templates.
