596 - HEAVY ANTIAIRCRAFT FIRE CONTROL MAN
[HVY AA FC MAN]

Performs one or more duties incident to the operation of instruments or equipment used in the collection or compilation of firing data for a heavy antiaircraft gun battery.

Sets up, operates, or assists in the operation of such instruments as the M-7 director, height finder, or BC telescope; performs such related fire control duties as are required in the operation of the 90mm or similar heavy antiaircraft gun. May operate power generator furnishing power for directors. May supervise a crew in setting up, adjusting, and operating heavy antiaircraft fire control equipment.

Must understand basic principles of antiaircraft fire control and must know proper use of fire control equipment used in conjunction with heavy antiaircraft guns. Noteā€”See also SSN 692.
